Some drivers may wonder why the engine oil turns black shortly after being changed?
Is the oil unqualified, or not changed cleanly?
Actually, neither is correct. It is normal for engine oil to turn black. If it doesn't turn black, it means that your engine oil is not functioning properly. There are two main reasons for engine oil to turn black: one is to play a cleaning role, and the other is to be oxidized.
Current engine oils generally contain detergent dispersants that absorb carbon deposits and oxides from combustion and engine oil, allowing them to be removed during oil changes, thereby ensuring internal engine cleanliness. Therefore, the blackening of newly changed engine oil is not necessarily caused by excessive internal engine dirt, as long as the oil is changed at the prescribed time.
Recommendation: Ensure that the oil and oil filter are changed as scheduled.
After using engine oil for a period of time, the viscosity of the oil becomes thicker and acidic products are produced. If it is not replaced regularly, it will damage engine components and affect the normal operation of the engine.
Sometimes we will also find that the engine oil consumption is too large, the engine oil pressure indicator shows abnormal, the car encountered such a situation is really a fault.
1. High fuel consumption
Under normal circumstances, the lubricating oil in good condition also has normal consumption, but some poor condition, the car's exhaust gas discharged blue smoke, in fact, this means that the lubricating oil consumption is too large.
The consumption of lubricating oil can be attributed to two primary factors: either it enters the combustion chamber and participates in combustion, or it leaks due to engine oil leakage.
The main reason why engine oil can enter the combustion chamber is due to severe wear of components, excessive clearance, or high oil pressure, which causes the oil to enter the combustion chamber. The main causes of oil leakage are hardened and aged gaskets and stuck valves.
If the vehicle is old, there is usually a situation where the sealing gasket is not sealed tightly due to aging.
In case of the above situation, it is best to pass through a professional maintenance center, and the maintenance engineer will make a judgment and implement an effective solution.
II. Indication of abnormal display on the indicator
When the gauge needle indicates abnormal oil pressure, it indicates a fault in the engine components.
If the oil gauge pointer shows low pressure or the instrument pointer shows large fluctuations, what is the cause?
It may be due to the wear of the oil pump, the blockage of the filter by dirt, the exposure of the suction filter screen to the oil surface, the low oil level, the mixing of air in the oil circuit, and the malfunction of the pressure gauge.
In addition, lubricating oil viscosity is low, poor oil seal and lubrication, and lubricating oil too cold viscosity too much lubricating oil sludge deposition too much will also cause the oil pressure indicator display abnormal.
A brief summary:
After a period of time, the engine oil consumption is a part. Generally, the oil capacity of a car is about 4L. When the oil level reaches the MIN mark on the oil dipstick, the oil is only missing 0.5-1L.
If the car's oil loss is within 1L within 10,000 kilometers, it is considered normal wear and tear, and it is not a malfunction.
